Edward J. Hall is the Emeritus Professor of Small Animal Medicine at the University of Bristol and a distinguished figure in the field of veterinary internal medicine. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, he completed his postgraduate clinical and research training in Philadelphia and Liverpool. He is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA) and a recognized RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Medicine (Gastroenterology). Throughout his career, he has served as President of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) and contributed to the WSAVA GI Standardization Group. Professor Hall has dedicated his career to advancing the understanding of small animal gastrointestinal health. His research and clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, gluten-sensitive enteropathy, and the application of flexible GI endoscopy. He has authored numerous influential texts, including contributions to the Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Gastroenterology, and continues to be a prominent educator in the veterinary community.
