José Rodríguez Gómez is a distinguished Spanish veterinary surgeon and academic. He earned his veterinary degree in 1982 and his PhD in 1986 from the Complutense University of Madrid. Since 1987, he has served as a Full Professor in the Department of Animal Pathology at the University of Zaragoza, where he has also been a dedicated surgeon at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital for over three decades. He previously held the position of Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital from 2003 to 2008. Beyond his academic duties, Dr. Rodríguez is a prolific author and coordinator of the 'Small Animal Surgery' collection, a series of books focused on step-by-step surgical techniques that have been translated into multiple languages. His clinical expertise lies in soft tissue surgery, and he is an active member of the research group for minimally invasive techniques at the University of Zaragoza.
