Kang-Seuk Choi, DVM, MS, PhD, is a distinguished Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Seoul National University. He is a recognized global expert in avian infectious diseases, particularly Newcastle disease, and has served as an expert for the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH, formerly OIE), including as Chief of the OIE Reference Laboratory for Newcastle Disease. His research focuses on the molecular epidemiology, host-pathogen interactions, and vaccine development for influenza and coronavirus diseases in animals and humans. Prior to his academic tenure at Seoul National University, Dr. Choi spent over 27 years at the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) in the Republic of Korea. He currently serves as the director of the Center for Animal Disease Diagnosis at Seoul National University and has been appointed as an outside director for Yuyu Pharma to support their expansion into the pet care industry. He is the author of the book 'Newcastle Disease: Main challenges in poultry farming' and has contributed extensively to the field of veterinary virology.
