Maggie Fisher is a distinguished veterinarian and applied veterinary parasitologist with over two decades of experience in the field. A graduate of the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in London, she began her career in mixed veterinary practice before returning to the RVC as an academic, where she spent six years focusing on parasitology. In 1997, she established her own consultancy, Shernacre Enterprise, and later acquired the UK-based contract research organization Ridgeway Research Ltd in 2008. In 2011, she co-founded Veterinary Research Management Ltd (VRM), where she currently serves as the sole director, providing strategic direction and specialist scientific expertise for product development programs. A world-renowned expert in small animal parasitology, Fisher has contributed significantly to the field through her extensive research, authorship of veterinary textbooks, and leadership roles in international organizations. She was a key creative influence behind the European Scientific Counsel Companion Animal Parasites (ESCCAP) and has served on the Executive Committee of the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP). She is a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Parasitology and a fellow of the Royal Society of Biology.
