About
Dr. Matteo Rossanese is a distinguished veterinary surgeon and academic, currently serving as a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery and Co-Head of Soft Tissue Surgery at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). A European and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, he has dedicated his career to advancing surgical standards, particularly in the fields of cardiothoracic and minimally invasive surgery. In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (FRCVS) in recognition of his meritorious contributions to clinical practice. Dr. Rossanese graduated from the University of Bologna in 2009 and subsequently pursued extensive postgraduate training across several institutions, including North Downs Specialist Referrals and the Animal Health Trust. He completed an ECVS-approved residency at the University of Liverpool's Small Animal Teaching Hospital. Beyond his clinical and research work, he is deeply committed to veterinary education, holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Education and a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. He is also the author of the 'Manual of Small Animal Surgical Emergencies', a comprehensive resource for veterinary professionals.
