María Patrocinio del Carmen Morrondo Pelayo is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of veterinary parasitology and animal pathology. She holds a degree in Biological Sciences and a degree in Veterinary Science from the University of León, where she also earned her doctorate in 1985. Her career has been defined by extensive contributions to the study of parasitic diseases in ruminants, with a particular focus on epidemiological and molecular research regarding cryptosporidiosis and coccidiosis. Throughout her career, she has held significant academic positions, including serving as a Professor of Animal Pathology at the University of Santiago de Compostela and as a faculty member at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Lugo. Her professional experience includes clinical diagnostic work at the Rof Codina Clinical Veterinary Hospital. She has been actively involved in research and development concerning animal health, directing multiple doctoral theses and collaborating on international research projects.
