Raquel Salgüero Fernández is a distinguished veterinary specialist in diagnostic imaging, holding the title of Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). She is also a recognized specialist by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and is accredited by the Spanish Small Animal Veterinary Association (AVEPA). She earned her veterinary degree from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2006 and subsequently completed two rotating internships in the United Kingdom at VRCC Veterinary Referrals and the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital at the University of Cambridge, where she also pursued a Master's in Education. She completed her residency in diagnostic imaging at the University of Cambridge in 2015 under the supervision of Michael Herrtage. Following her residency, she worked as a radiologist in several referral hospitals in the UK, including Davies Veterinary Specialists. Upon returning to Spain in 2017, she served as the head of the diagnostic imaging department at the Puchol Veterinary Hospital for four years. Currently, she is an associate professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, leads the diagnostic imaging service at Hospital Veterios, and serves as a consultant teleradiologist. Her clinical and research interests encompass all small animal diagnostic imaging modalities, with a particular focus on neuroimaging, thoracic and abdominal ultrasound, and CT angiography.
