Dr. Sara Galac is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and completed her internship and residency in small animal medicine at Utrecht University. Dr. Galac holds two PhDs: one from the University of Ljubljana (2001) focusing on progesterone receptor antagonists, and a second from Utrecht University (2010) regarding Cushing's syndrome in dogs. Her professional career is dedicated to clinical practice, teaching, and research, with a primary focus on veterinary endocrinology and oncology. She leads the OnGo oncology research group at the Department of Clinical Sciences and is actively involved in advancing diagnostic and treatment methodologies for endocrine disorders in companion animals. Beyond her academic duties, Dr. Galac is a prominent figure in the veterinary community, having served as the past-president of the European Society of Veterinary Endocrinology (ESVE). She is a frequent speaker at international conferences and contributes to continuing education for veterinary professionals. Her work includes significant contributions to the field through journal articles, book chapters, and textbooks, such as her work on canine endocrinology.
