Dr. Joaquín J. Sopena has gathered together for that work a remarkable team of national and international specialists in skin surgery in small animals, presenting a versatile work on clinical cases. The book will be structured in a practical and applied manner, aiming at providing a detailed description of each case, including the surgical technique and many pictures and step-by-step series. More than 30 clinical cases on skin surgery will serve as a guide for every vet in practice confronted for the first time to similar cases. This publication will be a reference guide for those veterinary surgeons whose intention is to improve clinical management of big wounds requiring one or several surgeries.
Chronic valvular disease (CVD) is the most common heart disease seen in veterinary practice. Three of every four dogs with heart disease presented at the clinic have CVD; one of every four elderly dogs has it. This clear and simple visual guide provides all the tools that a general practitioner needs to treat this disease successfully.
Pets, particularly cats and dogs, are living longer than ever before. Almost half of their lifespan makes app the senior/geriatric life stage. This book is a practical manual that comprehensively covers geriatric medicine of dogs and cats, and provides readers, whether veterinary surgeons working in routine clinical practice or students approaching the end of their veterinary medicine degree, with a different approach to clinically useful information on this topic. In this second edition all chapters have been rigorously reviewed and updated, with a particular emphasis on pharmacological protocols and dosages and new therapies. An entire new chapter on endocrine problems in senior pets has been added.
This edition of the Veterinary suture handbook expands the contents of the previous edition with updated and more practical information. It includes basic aspects such as the different types of sutures, their characteristics and those of the instruments used, and the latest and most innovative materials. It also provides detailed descriptions of their use and advice on how to apply them to ensure the best results. In addition, the authors give greater relevance to the suturing of the different organs according to their characteristics and to new techniques, and a whole chapter is dedicated to eye surgery.
