The extraordinary characteristic of super elasticity and strength of the NiTi alloy has made it possible to produce rotary instruments capable of assuring a perfect shaping reproducible with the use of very few instruments, in a short time, without the need for the operator to have the above average manual skills.

Once the NiTi alloy became commercially available, without a doubt, it became the alloy of choice that allowed even less experienced operators to achieve excellent results. Numerous studies have shown that, with the use of NiTi, even inexperienced dentists can obtain better results than by using stainless steel.

After the initial negotiation years ago (using hand stainless steel files), one had to do many steps and recapitulations, at the end of which it was impossible to know what taper had been developed, indispensable for choosing the correct gutta-percha cone for obturation, nowadays the shaping is standardized and repeatable because it is created by the rotary instruments for us.

The rotary systems are matched to the paper cones points for drying the canals and to the gutta-percha cones to then be able to obturate the canals. Nothing is left to chance, fantasy, or the passion of the operator anymore: the results are identical in both the hands of an expert as well as that of a newly qualified dentist.

Obviously, to do this and use the NiTi instruments safely, one has to follow precise rules to avoid the big risk that goes with their use, which is instrument fracture.

To be able to work safely with the rotary NiTi instruments, requires understanding the following three concepts:

a) Glide Path

b) Preliminary enlargement

c) Coronal preflaring

Educational Objectives

Specifically, this webinar will:

Understand the concepts of:

a) Glide path

b) Preliminary enlargement

c) Coronal preflaring

Became familiar with NiTi instruments, understanding how to use them and their advantages

Educational Path

The webinar is a recording of a live course and consists of two parts.

The first part covers the primary course content via lecture. In the second part, the speaker answers questions received during a live session with participants.

Interaction with the instructor is an essential part of this program, and participants can follow up with the speaker by e-mail at the address provided at the end of the lecture.
